Denis and Moira arrived in the late evening on Friday 7th November in Kassel, checked in and joined the social get-together in the bar «Cuba Club», where they met many of the attendees in an informal atmosphere – ideal for socializing.
On Saturday the 9th November started very early at 8 am with a breakfast. Then there was the opening of the event, held by the organization team and the political manager Kristos Thingilouthis. Every attendee introduced herself in a few words. At the end of this ceremony, Denis took the micro and told everybody that he is from Pirates without Borders and he has brought chocolate with him. And anyone who eats the chocolate should consider to join Pirates without Borders as a member.
Moira staid the most of the time outside, where she was networking with many board members from different federal states. And she also tried to convince as much visitors as possible to join Pirates without Borders. At the end of the weekend, Pirates without Borders gained ten new members on the spot. This wouldn’t have been possible without the magic of Swiss Chocolate which Denis distributed.
We had many interesting discussions with a lot of people and learned much about the current political and structural state of the German Pirate Party. We also met many new people.
Pirates without Borders gained about ten new members on this weekend and some more promised to consider joining later.
